Holodeck Sex
While sitting in a concert recently, the boring type, not the loud type, my mind drifted and somehow came upon the idea of "Why was the holodeck on the Star Trek series never talked about as a masturbatory device?" The holodeck is a piece of technology that is capable of recreating matter to the point where your can't tell that it's not real, and that includes humans. Who wouldn't want to live out their wildest sexual fantasy in the safety and security of a holodeck, where there are no std's, and no hang-ups, and everyone that your program is there to provide you pleasure. Why was this never even hinted upon in the tv series? Cause I know that if I had access to that technology I would have to experiment with it.
I'm fairly certain that if the technology were to be developed, that porn would make it a main stay in general use, much like porn determined vhs over beta.
On a side note; from the following fan-made clip, I learned that James T. Kirk has a gay son, never knew.

lol - i wondered the same thing from the first time i saw the holodeck!!
ReplyDeletethe holodeck did get used for some role play and power dynamics fantasies, but the left all the juicy sex fantasies out.
personally i think if something like the holodeck ever existed most people would go in and starve to death before they left.
I seem to remember a study was done with rats, that they could push a button to stimulate their brain for sexual gratification, or push a button for food, I don't remember if they starved to death, or were force fed, but they didn't stop pushing their pleasure button.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought the same thing! Omg! The possibilities!!!! Banging away at Alex O'Loughlin or Scott Caan?!?!? Or Nathan Fillion? Endless possibilities!!!
