Labels

I recently made a comment on horny fiction about being revoked of my gay card, and this got me thinking about labels in general. Society needs labels to help us function as a society, but we should never be defined by our labels.

Labels are like uniforms in the since that when you see someone dressed as a police officer, there are certain things that you would expect then to do if you needed help. If you saw someone in scrubs you would expect them to be in the medical field. Like uniforms, labels are something that you wear, not what defines you as a person.

This is what has been bothering me about people saying that if you suck a cock, then your gay and you need to let the world know that your out and proud. Well I've sucked maybe six cocks in my life, and I would challenge anyone who would want to label me as gay. If someone wants to label me for my pass actions, then here are some that might be more appropriate; human, asshole, lazy, ignorant, fuck-up, to name a few.

So I'm okay with being gay for a while, being an asshole at times, and being ignorant of everything that I don't know, but I'm always myself. While everyone will not see all the facets of my personality, I will and I can live with that, and I respect others for being themselves, no matter what label they chose to identify themselves with.
